Judith Ann (Meyers) Rogers was born on March 12, 1935 in Marshallville, Ohio to the late Ralph Lippold Meyers and Frieda Esther Fetzer. The fourth child and only girl, Judy loved learning and being involved in school life and with friends, who remained dear friends throughout her life. She graduated from Chippewa High School in Doylestown, Ohio in 1953.
Judy was a lifelong pianist, beginning piano lessons in grade school, and was involved in and loved music all her life. She had a strong personal faith and over the years shared it with others through her music. She was lifetime member of the Methodist Church, involved with choirs and music ministries. She enjoyed sharing her talents as a choir director and pianist/organist for Bailey Methodist near her home in Bailey, NC, and at Ephesus Baptist church in nearby Spring Hope, NC.
Her musical talents led her to being involved as an accompanist for students in high school and college levels bands and orchestra, playing for weddings, funerals, and special programs for the community, like local dinner theaters. She just loved anything that involved music. Judy worked professionally through the years as a secretary/administrative assistant in many capacities, including as a personal secretary for the president of Indiana State University Evansville, in Indiana. In her spare time, she loved writing and was a columnist for the Spring Hope Enterprise for many years.
Judy loved people and had many friends. Strangers were just people to meet and become friends with. She loved her family and especially enjoyed having grandchildren and great grandchildren. She attended a lot of their activities from swim meets, and ballgames to singing and band performances.
Judy passed on to join her loved ones in Heaven on Tuesday, April 25, 2023. She will be greatly missed.
