Judith Carol Bass Meeks

Judith “Judy” Carol Bass Meeks passed away at 3:58 p.m. Thursday, March 25, 2021 surrounded by her family at her home in Wilson. She was born on October 25, 1942 to Benjamin and Mildred Bass. Judy was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was a member of Westmoreland Pentecostal Holiness Church. Judy served the church in leadership, women’s ministry, as a choir member and class teacher through the years. She worked as a librarian in the public school system for thirty-nine years before retiring in 2004. Judy enjoyed solving crossword puzzles, reading books, and nurturing plants in her yard.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 29, 2021 at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson.
The family will receive friends Monday morning from 10 – 10:45 a.m. prior to the service at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson.
Judy is survived by her loving husband of fifty-four years, Edward Ray Meeks; daughters, Pamela Cason and husband, Michael of Garner, Jennifer Wade and husband, Russell of Goldsboro, and Michele Grigg and husband, Alex of Gainesville, Georgia; six grandchildren, Blake Cason and wife, Hannah of Woodbridge, Virginia, Tyler and Christian Cason both of Garner, Mackenzie and Caleb Wade both of Goldsboro, and Benjamin Grigg of Gainesville, Georgia, and her sisters, Becky Watson and Janes Evans both of Wilson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Mildred Bass.
