Judith Thompson Scull August 10, 1938 – January 31, 2019 Judith Thompson Scull “Judy” of Wilson passed away at the age of eighty on January 31, 2019, in her home. Born in Wilson, on August 10, 1938, Judy grew up in Wilson and was the only child of Agnes Credle Thompson and William Cecil Thompson. Judy graduated from Meredith College in 1960 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education.  She went on to teach middle school math at Greenfield School for eighteen years. After retiring, Judy enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family and extended family, especially her grandchildren. A native Wilsonian, Judy attended Charles L. Coon School, took dance lessons from Mary Belle Hinnant, and grew up in the First Baptist Church. A talented artist, she enjoyed being creative in many areas of her life, especially with cooking, decorating, and flower arranging. Judy will lovingly be remembered by her family members; husband of fifty-eight years, David Woodruff Scull; children, Susan Scull Grine and Elizabeth Scull Baker and husband, Robert Flowers Baker, Jr., and her grandchildren, Alyson Thompson Grine, William Carter Grine, Robert Lenox Baker, and Virginia Elizabeth Baker. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in Maplewood Cemetery, 400 College Road, Wilson.  The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 12 – 1:30 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.  The Rev. Daniel Heath will officiate. Flowers are welcomed, or consider memorials in Judy’s memory to Greenfield School, 3351 NC Hwy 42 West, Wilson, North Carolina 27893.
