Judy Faye Thorne

Mrs. Judy Faye Gay Thorne, 79 of Elm City, passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2025. 

Visitation will be at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Pkwy, Wilson, on Thursday, March 6th, from 12:45-1:45. Funeral services will be in the chapel at 2pm, and burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. 

Mrs. Thorne loved to spend time with her family and grandchildren. She leaves with them a cherished legacy of being very heavily involved in animal rescue for almost sixty years, and fond memories of her feeding the birds and squirrels in her yard, as well as the neighbors dogs and cats, whom tended to make her house a second home. 

She is survived by her son, Jimmy Webb and his wife, Judy; daughter, Audrey Brewer and her husband, Jim; step-sons, Timothy Thorne, and Tony Thorne and his wife, Pam; grandchildren: Amber, Alexis, Madison, Erin, and Tyler; and her sisters: Ora Lee Bunting, Marilyn Jarman and her husband, Ed, and Linda Poole and her husband, Rudolph. 

Preceding her in death are her husband, Joel “Mack” Thorne; parents, Clyde and Mary Gay; brothers, Charles “Freddie” and Johnny Gay; and sister, Joann Newcomb.
