Julia Mae Baker Pennington June 26, 1924 – August 28, 2018 Julie Mae Baker Pennington, 94 of Elm City passed away Tuesday. Her funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson. The Rev. Johnny Taylor will officiate. The family will receive friends Friday morning from 10 – 10:45 a.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. Julia is survived by her son, Carl Pennington, Jr. and wife, Alice; daughter-in-law, Phyllis Pennington; grandchildren, Carlette Parris and husband, Al, Penny Elaine Pennington, Randall Ray Pennington, Jr. and wife, Cassie; great-grandchildren, Brian Jeffrey Parris and wife, Jessica, Christopher Shayne Matthews and his life partner, Chris, Joshua Brooks Matthews and wife, Courtney, Jessica Leighanne Parris and Kawen Drew Pennington and wife, Chloe; great-greatgrandchild, Nathan Pennington and her brother, Edward Carroll Baker and wife, Sharlene. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Benton Pennington, Sr.; son, Randall Ray Pennington; parents, Jesse and Hattie Baker; sister, Ethel Gray Powell and her brothers, Willie Ray Baker and Jessie Junior Baker.
