Julian Frank Leonard, Sr., 87, of Rocky Cross passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 with his family at his bedside.  He was born on January 17, 1926, Nash County, son of the late Frank Ellis Leonard and Waverly Lee Taylor.  Originally of Dortches, he served 28 years active duty in the U.S. Navy as Senior Chief.  He lived in several states and countries but his final retirement days were spent in Rocky Cross. Julian is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mildred and their children, Frank of Bunn Lake and Cheryl and Debroah of Wilson and his sister, Irene L. Riley of Wilson.  He was loved by numerous of nieces and nephews as well as many friends who were his extended family. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Marvin Leonard, Jack Leonard, Ed Leonard and Sam Leonard and his sisters, Pat L. Smith, Bert L. Ferrell and Annie Mae L. Braswell. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday at Rocky Cross Baptist Church, 13452 Burgess Road, Middlesex. The family will receive friends from 9:30 – 10:45 a.m. at Rocky Cross Baptist Church.
