Julie Tempest Das
January 17, 1959 – January 31, 2021
Julie Tempest Das, 62, of Wilson passed away Sunday. Her funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Raleigh Road Baptist Church, 4150 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. Interment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery, Wilson. The Rev. Tyler Campbell and the Rev. Greg Carr will officiate.
The family will receive visitors at a huge backyard extravaganza (Julie-style) in the Summer.
Julie is survived by her loving husband, Rob Das; daughters, Heather Allen and husband, Brandon, and Emma; son, Nicholas Das and her sisters, Beth Fuller and her husband, Blake, and Jennifer Tempest, and her brother-in-law, Kevin Vogt.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Carolyn Sebastian Tempest, and her sister, Cathy Vogt.
Julie was the founder of the Down Syndrome Support Group of Columbus, Indiana, and was a staunch advocate for people with disabilities for the last 21 years. She was a Le Cordon Bleu Master Chef who loved cooking, operated a thriving catering business, taught cooking classes, and enjoyed holding frequent dinner parties.
Julie loved the Lord and had the assurance of salvation through her faith in Jesus Christ. She served Him in many ways including being a Life Group leader and preparing countless meals in His service. Julie boldly shared her faith with others so they might come to Christ.
