J.V. Renfrow May 8, 1935 – September 11, 2018 J.V. Renfrow “Pappy”, 83, passed away peacefully at Wilson Medical Center on September 11, 2018. He was the son of Raymond and Manolia Edwards Renfrow. He was a graduate of Glendale High and attended King’s Business College. He married the love of his life, Patricia Wilder Godwin, on June 05, 1954. In the 64 years of their marriage, they lived on the family farm in Johnston County. J.V. farmed and also worked as a USDA tobacco inspector. In addition to his wife, Patricia, he is survived by their children; Mike Renfrow and wife, Carolyn, of Pine Level, Donna Renfrow Rutala and husband, Bill, of Chapel Hill and Dr. Ross Renfrow of Middlesex. In addition to his wife and children, J.V. is survived by his grandchildren; Suzanne Renfrow Walker and husband, Bo, Michael Renfrow, Melissa Rutala Kotrys and husband, Craig, Meredith Rutala, Tricia Renfrow, Jenna Renfrow and John Ross Renfrow. He had four great-grandchildren; Wilder Walker, Bennett Walker, Calvin Kotrys and Elaine Kotrys. J.V. was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Renfrow, and daughter-in- law, Amy Burress Renfrow. J.V. had several devoted healthcare professionals over the course of his illness. The family extends sincere appreciation to Dr. Hal Woodall and his staff, Transitions Life Care of Wake County, and to his in-home caregivers who cared for him with loving kindness and thoughtful attention. There will be a visitation with the family on Tuesday evening, September 18, 2018 from 6 – 8 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. A celebration of J.V.’s life will be held Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Oak Grove Presbyterian Church, 8164 Flower Hill Road, Middlesex, where he was a member, on Wednesday. Entombment will follow in the church cemetery, if weather permitting. The Rev. Clark Vincent will officiate.
