Karen Hinkle Wagamon, 73 of Wilson passed away from a short illness on Friday, September 20, 2024. A Funeral Mass will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 28, 2024, at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson. Deacon Michel du Sablon will officiate.
The family will receive friends on Saturday immediately following the service at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.
Karen adored her pets, and she loved pet rescue. She enjoyed the beach, sewing and decorating. She appreciated the beauty of art. Karen started her professional career at The Smithsonian Institute. Karen retired in 2022 after a long career with BB&T. Above all Karen loved her family and friends, they were the world to her. She will be greatly missed and thought of often with loving memories.
Karen is survived by her daughters, Linda Wagamon of Raleigh, and Kathryn Rothstein and husband, Paul of Wilmington; granddaughters, Ayla and Esme; step-children, Dawn Hastings, Allan Wagamon, and Susan Hoffman all of Milford, Delaware; sisters, Jean Hinkle Klele of Richmond, Virginia, Maria Frawley of Chevy Chase, Maryland, and Bess Landolt of Madison, Virginia, and her brother, Pat Hinkle of Newark, Delaware.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Barton and Christine Hinkle, and her step-mother, Sabrena Hinkle.
