Kathleen McLean Sasser, 89, of Wilson passed away Wednesday.  Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday at Joyner’s Funeral Home.  Interment will follow in Springhill Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 7335 Springfield Road, Lucama.  The Rev. Dr. DeWayne Eakes will officiate.

 The family will receive friends 10 – 10:45 a.m. prior to the service at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and other times at the home of her daughter, Jane Connor, 2914 Lancaster Road, Wilson. Kathleen was born July 29, 1924, in Williamsburg County, South Carolina, the oldest child of the late I.B. and Juanita Hutchinson McLean.  Her family moved to Wilson when she was thirteen.  She was a member of Springhill Presbyterian Church and was active for many years in the Order of the Eastern Star. Kathleen is survived by her daughters, Kitty S. Barnes and her husband, Donnie of Lucama and Jane S. Connor of Wilson; her son, E.S. “Buddy” Sasser and his wife, Pam of Selma; her grandchildren, Donna B. Sharp and her husband, Thad of Rock Ridge, Rebecca B. Wysocky and her husband, Mike of Wake Forest, Ginny Atkinson and her husband, Michael of Wilson, Michael Connor and his wife, Ellen of Pocomoke, MD, Beth C. Shelton and her husband, Charles of Henderson, Jason Sasser of Selma, Kevin Sasser and his wife, Raegan of Clayton; her fourteen great-grandchildren and her sisters, Sue M. Newcomb and her husband, Henry and Nell M. Mitchell both of Wilson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eunice S. Sasser in 1991; her parents, I.B. and Juanita McLean; her sisters, Ruby Bain, Betty Jo Bradshaw and Pat Floyd; her brother, Everette McLean and her son-in-law, Mike Connor.
