Kay Jay Dew

Kay Jay Dew, 83, of Bailey passed away on Wednesday, September 6.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 9 at 2:00 pm at White Oak Hill Free Will Baptist Church, 3967 W Hornes Church Road, Bailey.  Interment will be immediately following funeral services.  Pastors Hal Jones, Lewis Forsythe, Reuben Cason, and Ray Vick will officiate.

Family will receive friends on Saturday, September 9 at White Oak Hill Free Will Baptist Church from 12:30 pm until 1:45 pm.

Kay was a masterful carpenter who specialized in custom-built homes for many years.  He loved fishing about as much as he did eating a meal with his family and friends.  Kay fought a courageous battle with cancer for the last few years.  He won the battle on September 6 in the early morning hours.  He is now in heaven with his heavenly Father, his loving wife, Nancy, brothers, sisters, and his parents.

Kay is survived by his loving son, Michael Jay Dew and daughter-in-law, Debbie.  They were his world and he would do anything for both of them and they would do the same for him.  He is also survived by his sisters, Myrtle Dew Pridgen and Hildred Dew Goering; his faithful cat, Harley; and many nieces and nephews.  Kay leaves behind his best friends, David Mooring and Bill Brice, who were always willing to help in any way; and sisters-in-law, Rebecca Dew and Jeanette Dew.

Kay was preceded in death by his loving wife, Nancy J. Dew; parents, Joseph Homie Dew and Eula Murray Dew; brothers, Bruce Dew, Jimmie Dew, Billy John Dew; and sisters, Jessie Mae Dew High and Dorothy Ann Gastor.
