Kay Watson Strickland February 4, 1937 – December 10, 2015 Kay Watson Strickland, 78, of Wilson passed away Thursday. Her funeral service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday at Joyner’s Funeral Home. A Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson. The Rev. Ray Barnhill will officiate. The family will receive friends Friday evening immediately following the service at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and other times at the home. Kay is survived by her loving husband of fifty-three years, James H. “Butch” Strickland of the home; her daughter, Jennifer Blalock and husband, Travis of Wilson; grandsons, Drew Denton and Chase Denton both of Wilson; her sister, Debbie Saunders, and brother, Marvin Watson and wife, Aliene both of Wilson; several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gurney and Catherine Watson and a brother, Gene Watson.
