Kenneth R. Lamm July 8, 1928 – October 20, 2015 Kenneth R. Lamm, 87, of Wilson passed away Tuesday. His funeral service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road, Wilson. Interment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery, Wilson. The Rev. Steve Clayton will officiate. The family will receive friends 1 – 2:45 p.m. Saturday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and other times at the home. Kenneth was a dedicated husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He grew up in Wilson County and was a graduate of Charles L. Coon High School in Wilson. He served his country with honor and pride during the Korean War as a Corporal with the United States Army. After serving his country, he attended Atlantic Christian College where he graduated Summa Cum Laude in less than three years. He married the love of his life, Miss Joyce Ann Harrell in 1952. They enjoyed a wonderful life together for sixty-three years. He lived in Fayetteville, New Bern, Tarboro, Cedar Point and Wilson during his lifetime. Kenneth had a successful career with Carolina Telephone, receiving numerous promotions and awards throughout his tenure. He retired after 30 years with Carolina Telephone Company as a Senior Executive. Kenneth enjoyed a lifelong love of gardening, boating, and fishing and took particular pride in his meticulously maintained lawn. One of his greatest joys was sharing his fresh vegetables and fruits with friends and family. He spent many years in Cedar Point at his coastal home, enjoying boating, fishing and dinners with his special friends, Jean and Roland Brinson. Kenneth is survived by his son, Kent Lamm and wife, Caroline of Charlotte; his grandson, Cooper Lamm of Charlotte; his sister, Ruby Lamm Holland of Wilson; his brother, John Gray Lamm of Wilson; his nieces, Barbara Stephens and husband, Garry of Fuquay- Varina and Kathy Dixon and husband, Jimmy of Illinois; his nephew, Eddie Williamson and wife, Betty of Florida, and great-nephew, James Stephens of Charlotte. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Ann Harrell Lamm; his parents, Roosevelt and Dora Boyette Lamm; sister, Doris Lamm Williamson and his brother, Ray Lamm.
