Kenneth R. Wells
September 2, 1926 – June 25, 2019
Kenneth “Kenny” R. Wells, 92, of Sims passed away Tuesday. A celebration of life will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. Bill Flowers will officiate.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson.
Kenneth was an US Army veteran that served his country with honor and pride during the WWII. He loved going to the beach, fishing, cutting grass and listening to country music. He especially loved spending time with his family and friends telling them stories.
Kenneth is survived by his special friend and companion, Barbara W. Honeycutt of Wilson; daughter, Susan W. Johnson and husband, Clint of Pine Knoll Shores; son, Mike Wells of Clayton; granddaughters, Kathryn Johnson of Pensacola, Florida, Michaela Wells of Clayton, Stephanie Morrisey and husband, Larry of Jackson, Mississippi and Stacey Compton and husband, Chris of Denville, New Jersey; grandsons, Reid Johnson and significant other, Maria of Durham, Gabriel Wells of Clayton and Stephen Wells and wife, Patricia of Miami, Florida; six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
H was preceded in death by his son, Steve Wells; parents, Stephen B. Wells and Kate Coleman Wells; three sisters and two brothers.
