Larry Joe Allen, 63, of Wilson passed away Thursday.  A memorial service will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. The family will receive friends Sunday immediately following the service at Joyner’s and other times at the home. Larry was retired from the United States Air Force with twenty-four years of service.  He also was a retired instructor at ENCSD with twenty years of service.  Larry was a lifelong member of Turrentine Baptist Church in Mocksville.  He was a loving and devoted husband, dad, and grandfather.  He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. Larry is survived by his wife, Cathy Draughn Allen of the home; his sons, Joseph Eric Allen and wife, Shelia of Lucama and Jeffrey Gwyn Allen of Wilson; his granddaughter, Kirstie Ranea Wood and his grandsons, Tyler Joe Allen and Tomas Gwyn Allen; his sisters, Carolyn Foster and Donna Lambeth and husband, Roger; a brother, Dale Allen and wife, Cathy; several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, and several nieces and nephews, including Traci Moser and Jason Allen. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd Grant Allen and Mary Louise Cranfill Allen, and his brother, L.G.
