Larry Carl Bass
January 18, 1949 – July 6, 2020
Larry Carl Bass, 71 of Wilson passed away Monday, July 6, 2020. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in Ferrell Family Cemetery, Lucama. The Rev. Gene Thompson will officiate.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 – 8 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.
Larry was a 1969 Lucama High School graduate. He served his country with honor and pride while serving in U.S. Army. Larry was special to his family and friends. He had a heart of gold, always giving to others, lending a helping hand and sharing his unconditional love. Larry loved people, he loved dogs and he was an avid collector of things that were special and important to him. Larry lived by the Hebrews 13:16 verse, Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.
Larry is survived by his children; Larry Carl Bass, Jr. and wife, Chrissy of Columbia, Virginia and Johari Chevonz Bradley-Bass and wife, Ashley of Roseland, Virginia; grandson, Caelin Coles; granddaughters, Camille Bradshaw, Ava Bass, Natalie Bass and Leah Bass; sisters, Nell Boyette and husband, Charles, Dottie Hill and husband, Raymond, Betty Holcomb and husband, Ronald and Renee Barnes and husband, Scott; brothers, Danny Bass and Ronnie Bass; sister-in-law, Pam Bass; aunts, Pauline Pope and Betty Jean Taylor; uncles, Fuzzy Ferrell and wife, Yvonne and Royce Bass and wife, Sue and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Pierpon Bass and Margie Bass Jones; step-father, Paul Jones and his brothers, Wayne Bass and Dennis Bass.
The family is thankful for the kindness, love and dedication Larry received from many caretakers at the Cottage of Spring Arbor and AseraCare Hospice.
