Larry "Buddy" Glenn Shackleford

Larry “Buddy” Glenn Shackleford, 58, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, February 15.  Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 22 at 2:00 pm at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.  Interment will be held immediately following the service at Evergreen Memorial Park.  Reverend Chris Harris will officiate.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, February 22 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Joyner’s Funeral Home.

Buddy treasured his family and especially loved his two granddaughters very much.   He enjoyed camping, woodworking and most of all fishing, and was always ready to take the boat out and wet a hook.  He also liked spending time in his barn building furniture and talking to the Lord.  Buddy always gave his time freely to others and was willing to lend a helping hand wherever it was needed.  He knew no stranger and made a friend wherever he went.  He was a blessing to all who knew him.

Buddy is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Kimberly “Kim” Webb Shackleford; son, Connor Shackleford; daughter, Samantha Wall and husband, Matthew; mother, Betty McGuire; sisters, Sherry Moore and Tina Murphy; brother, Phillip Shackelford; grandchildren, Lylah Wall and Norah Wall.

Buddy was preceded in death by his father, Larry Phillip Shackelford.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Oak Grove Free Will Baptist Church at 5921 Bridgersville Road, Elm City, NC 27822.
