Leola Burke Price October 2, 1923 – March 11, 2019 Leola Burke Price, 95 of Elm City passed away peacefully at Wilson Pines on March 11, 2019.  Her funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson.  Interment will follow in Parker Family Cemetery, Elm City.  Pastor Curtis Carroll will officiate. The family will receive friends Thursday afternoon from 1 – 1:45 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. Leola was also known as granny by many.  She loved her family and most of her conversations were about them and her late husband, Benny and her Heavenly Father.  Leola would always give you hug and tell you “I love you a bushel and peck and hug around the neck.” Leola was born October 2, 1923 and is survived by her daughter, Janess Parker; grandsons, Tony and wife, Sheila Parker, Todd and wife, Donnie Parker and Trent and wife, Sheila Parker; great-grandchildren, Caleb Parker, Taryn Parker, Dawson Parker, Dustin Parker, Maranda May and Ashley Myers and her great-great-grandchildren, Taylor and Erica Hensley, Greyson, Brycen and Elora Parker, Braydon May, Maci Acri and Raelyn Myers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin; son-in-law, Perry Parker, who she was proud to share birthday with; great-grandchildren, Eric and Brian Hensley; parents, Libby and Molly Burke; sister, Naomi Rodrigues and her brother, Marlin Burke. The family would like to express their gratitude and a special thank you to the nurses, CNA\'s and staff at Wilson Pines for the love and care that was given to our loved one, Leola.  Thank you also to hospice for providing extended care.
