Leslie Ray Manning, 93 of Middlesex passed away Friday, January 31, 2025 at home.
The family will be receiving friends on Friday, February 7, 2025, from 1:00-2:45pm at Joyner's Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Pkwy, Wilson, NC. A memorial service will follow in the chapel at 3:00pm.
Ray was a kind and loving man, who loved his friends and family whole heartedly. He enjoyed going to church, if his health allowed, and serving his Lord. He honorably served in the United States Army, and after retiring from the Army he worked at Cummins Engine. Ray loved working in his yard and helping other people, especially his son in his garden and shop. Hardees was Ray’s go to place, and he traveled every chance he got. Ray was a strong-willed person, and he will be greatly missed.
Ray is survived by his son, Leslie Howard Manning and wife, Roxanne; grandchildren, Sylvia Joyner, Brandon Manning, Rick Babin and Chris Babin; great-grandchildren, Seth Babin, Kelsi Prince, Liam Anderson, Mason Ray Manning, brother, Howard Manning and wife, Sara; his son-in-law, Richard Babin and several nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dortha Manning; daughter, Toni Kay Babin; grandson, Mike Babin; parents, Leslie Franklin and Nora Manning; sisters, Mable Price and Blanche Price and his brother, Author Manning
