Lillian Rebekah Smith

Lillian Rebekah Beard Smith passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2025. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Joyner's Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.

 The family will receive friends Friday evening, February 7, 2025, from 6-8pm at Joyner's Funeral Home, Wilson. 

 Rebekah is survived by her daughter, Angela Smith; granddaughters Katheryne Smith and Lillian Smith; brothers Dan Beard and wife Diane, and Mitchell Beard; sisters, Betty Frazier, and Carolyn Raper, and her sister-in-law and friend Connie Eason and her husband, Russell. 

 She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Lizzie Beard; sister Joyce Tedder and her brothers John Beard and Rufus Beard.

 Rebekah is a graduate of Bailey High School. She attended East Carolina University and Atlantic Christian College. She spent her career in the medical field, working in medical records and doing medical transcription at both the Carolina Clinic and Wilson Memorial Hospital. After relocating to Wilmington, she worked for New Hanover Regional Medical Center in the Coastal Rehab and the Pathology Lab until her retirement in 2010. Rebekah was kind, meek, and very humble. She loved the Lord, her family and friends. She will be greatly missed.
