Linda Lee Musgrave

Linda Hinchey Musgrave, 80, of Wilson passed away Thursday, September 12, 2024. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 17, 2024, in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson. Pastor Scott Eatmon will officiate.

Linda was a very hard worker and dedicated mother. At the age of ten, David Wayne’s father, Lewis David Dorsey, passed away in a boating accident, and at that time Linda took on the role of both father and mother. She carted David Wayne to every ball game and fishing hole that he could find in her brown Cadillac. Linda worked daily at Sampson Manufacturing for forty years. There is likely not a more selfless person God has ever created.

Linda is survived by her son, David Wayne Dorsey and wife, Mollie; granddaughters, Taylor Dorsey and Katelyn Hawkins and husband, Chris; great-grandchildren, Brantley, Gunner, and Hallie Hawkins; step-daughters, Wendy and Barbi; and her nieces and nephews, Billy Ray, Glenda, and Carmen.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Musgrave; parents, Elwood and Vicie Hinchey and several brothers including Carl Hinchey and sister, Wanda Lucas, whom she was very close to throughout her adult life, and her nephew, Carlton.

In lieu of flowers, please consider memorials to Dementia Alliance of North Carolina, 9131 Anson Way, Suite 206, Raleigh, North Carolina 27615.

Condolences directed to Joyner’s Funeral Home and Crematory at www.joyners.net.
