Linwood Earl Davis

Linwood Earl Davis March 27, 1946 – January 29, 2015 Linwood “Linnie” Earl Davis, 68, of 6061 Lamm Road, Wilson, completed his life journey, and moved into the arms of his Lord, Thursday, January 29, 2015. Leaving to cherish his wonderful memories are his wife of forty-four years, Rebecca “Becky” J. Davis; his sons, Chris Davis (Denise) of Wilson and Shannon Davis (Carey) of Bailey. So dear to his heart, granddaughters, Hannah Davis and Emma Grace Davis of Bailey and Katelyn Davis of Wilson; his grandson, Seth Davis of Bailey and his sister, Carolyn Gowen-Bunn (Randy) of Wilson. He was preceded in death by his son, Jason Scott Davis, his parents, J.L. “Bud” Davis and Kathleen Wells Davis and his brother, Dennis Davis and sister-in-law, Sue. He served his country honorably during the Vietnam era as a US Marine. He retired from Brown Oil Company in 2006 after thirty-seven years. Linnie was a long time member of Shiloh PH Church. During that time he was active in Shiloh Men’s ministries. He served as an usher, was a care team leader and parking coordinator. Linnie loved working in his yard and helping his neighbors. He was loved by many who will dearly miss him. His smile was contagious, and his laughter up-lifting to all in his presence. The family will receive friends 6 – 8:30 p.m. Sunday, February 1, 2015 at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. His funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday, February 2, 2015 at Shiloh PH Church, 5843 Shiloh Church Road, Wilson. Entombment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson. The Rev. Elwood Long will officiate.
