Lois Newcomb Barnes October 29, 1934 – April 25, 2018 Lois Newcomb Barnes, 83, of Wilson passed away Wednesday. Her funeral services will be conducted at 6 p.m. Thursday evening at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson. The Rev. LaVon Phillips will officiate. The family will receive friends Thursday evening following the service at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson. Lois was the oldest living charter member of Farmington Heights Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. Lois was a fabulous cook and enjoyed spending time with her family. Lois is survived by her daughters, Pegi Sharp and husband, Rhine of Wilson, and Ginger Boyette and husband, Tony of Wilson; her son, Charles Barnes of Wilson and fiancé, Kit; granddaughters, Sarah Boyette Skelly, and husband, Chris, Karley Sharp, Caroline Sharp, Kelly Barnes, Meredith Sharp, and, Jesslyn Boyette; her grandson, Lucas Barnes & wife, Nichole; great-grandchildren, Everett Graham Barnes, Kamden Murphy, Gretchen Skelly, and Hannon Skelly, and her brother, Henry Newcomb of Wilson. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of sixty-four years, Carl Graham Barnes; her granddaughter, Julie boyette; parents, Jesse Blount Newcomb and Sallie Honeycutt Newcomb; her sisters, Sallie Newcomb Pate, Pauline Newcomb Postin, and Pearl Newcomb Draper, and her brothers, Robert Newcomb, Thomas Newcomb, Milton “Pete” Newcomb, and Allen Newcomb. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials in Lois’ memory to Meals on Wheels, 2306 Cedar Run Place, Wilson, North Carolina 27895 or Community Home Care and Hospice, 2841 Daisy Lane, Wilson, North Carolina 27896.
