Louis Stephen Boykin December 2, 1920 – October 15, 2018 Louis Stephen Boykin, 97 of Wilson passed away Monday, October 15, 2018 at Wilson Pines Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. His funeral will be conducted Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson. The Rev. Tim Hopkins will officiate. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. Louis served his country with honor and pride with the U.S. Army and a veteran of WWII. He was born December 2, 1920 in Wilson County to the late Elkanie and Kisiah Etheridge Boykin. Louis is survived by his daughter, Jean Kile and husband, Glen of Raleigh; daughter-in-law, Joyce Boykin; granddaughters, Angela Fanelli and husband, George of Zebulon and Christa Barnett and husband, Townsend of Pittsboro and his great-grandchildren, Isabella Fanelli, Chloe Fanelli, Zachary Barnett, Sophie Barnett and Noah Barnett. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mattie Ruth Boykin; his son, Louis Stephen Boykin, Jr.; parents and eight siblings.
