Loumis Franklin Hinnant
August 22, 1925 – March 6, 2015
Loumis Franklin Hinnant, 89, of Wilson passed away Friday evening. His funeral service will be conducted 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson. The Rev. Justin Deeter will officiate.
The family will receive friends 2:00 - 3:15 p.m. Tuesday prior to the service at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.
Loumis served his country with honor and pride with the Navy. He retired from DuPont after thirty-two years of service. Loumis was a member of the Evening Optimist’s Club, where he enjoyed selling Christmas trees and also a member of the American Legion and he served on the Wilson County Fair Board.
Loumis is survived by his daughter, Delaine Bailey and husband, Jerold of Raleigh; his son, Franklin “Frankie” Hinnant and wife, Elizabeth of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren, Jennifer Bailey, Jordan Hinnant and Joseph Hinnant and his sister, Mildred Davis of Bailey.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of fifty-eight years, Audrey P. Hinnant; parents, Frank and Viola Daughtry Hinnant and his sister, Hazel Pittman.
