Luby Powell Bradshaw

Luby P. Bradshaw, 87, of Wilson passed away Monday.-Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday at Joyner-s Funeral Home.-Interment with military honors will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park.-The Rev. Dr. Rusty Russell, the Rev. Brian Tippett and the Rev. Gordon Sebastian will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 6 - 9 p.m. Thursday at Joyner-s Funeral Home Funeral, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway and other times at the home.
Luby served his country honorably with the U.S. Army during World War II.-Luby and Elizabeth were the founders and charter members of Peace Free Will Baptist Church and remained active as long as their health allowed.-He worked for Wilson Motor Parts for 56 years and G&E Motor parts for 6 years.-/p>
Luby is survived by his daughter, Gail Bradshaw Swartzfager and husband, Duane; his sons, Carlton H. Bradshaw, Sr. and wife, Debbie and J.T. -Tony- Bradshaw and wife, Patricia all of Wilson; his step-son, Dr. Thomas M. Stanley and his wife, Lyndall of Savannah, GA; his granddaughters, Jill Bradshaw, Christy Lyndon and husband, Joe all of Wilson and Dr. Loren Simonds and husband, Joe of Houston, TX; his grandsons, Lee Bradshaw and wife, Catie of Garner, Carl Bradshaw and wife, Kelly of Wilson, Derek Bradshaw and wife, Kathryn of Richmond, VA, Ray Daniels and wife, Melissa of Black Creek, Laughton Stanley and wife, Rebecca and Byron Stanley and wife, Rainuka all of Cambridge, MA; fourteen great-grandchildren, and his sister, Margie Caudill and husband Harold of Charlotte.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Elizabeth Aycock Bradshaw; his parents, Ivey and Cora Shadding Bradshaw; four sisters and four brothers.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Peace Church Kingdom Kids, 2838 Tilghman Road, Wilson NC-27896 or the WilMed Foundation or WilMed Hospice, 1705 Tarboro Street SW, Wilson, NC-27893.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of WilMed Nursing Care Center and to Tim and Alisha Whitley and their staff at the Kountry Kitchen Restaurant.
