Lucile "Lucy" Green McHenry

Lucile “Lucy” Green McHenry, 66, of Wilson, passed away Monday. A Memorial Service will be held at 6:00 p.m., on Thursday, October 13, 2022, at Joyner’s Funeral Home. Rev. LaVon Phillips will officiate.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.

Lucy loved spending time with her family and friends, she was a big adventurer and loved to travel and explore new places and meet new people. She started her career as a Flight Attendant with Eastern Airlines and then went on to retire from US Air after twenty-eight years of service. Lucy also loved helping people in time of need, she was a surgical tech at Johnson Memorial Hospital and most recently, cared for patients at East Carolina ENT. Lucy was larger than life and loved training animals, as well as a passion for gardening when she wasn’t traveling or caring for patients. She was loved and will be missed by all who were lucky enough to know her.

Lucy is survived by her loving husband, Norman McHenry; sons, Brett Norman McHenry and wife, Meredith of Wilson and Vann Ryan McHenry and wife, Caroline, of Washington; granddaughter, Sadie Woods McHenry; brothers, Howard Peyton Green III (Catherine) of Penhook, Virginia and Richard “Dickie” Green (Pamela) of Danville, Virginia.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard Peyton Green, Jr. and Lucile Gibson Green; nephew, Austin Middleton Green.
