Lucille Davis Gay May 7, 1925 – May 31, 2016 Lucille Davis Gay, 91, of Wilson passed away Tuesday. Her funeral service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson. A graveside service will be held at 11 Friday in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson. The Rev. John Check will officiate. The family will receive friends Thursday evening immediately following the service at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. Lucille was a special and devoted mother, wife and friend to all. She was a dedicated member of Hornes United Methodist Church. Lucille is survived by her son, Wayne Gay and wife, Ann of Wilson; granddaughter, Kimberly Gay Fulghum; great-granddaughter, Tara Brynn Fulghum; her favorite niece, Sheryl Tart of Cornelius, and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vonnie Gay; parents, Claud and Sudie Davis; her sister, Katherine Davis, and brothers, Tommy Davis and Mack Davis. The family would like to thank her caregivers, Janice Holland and Collette Ward for all their care, support and love for the past years, along with Shelia Johnson with Wilson Hospice and Jane Brinson with Wilson Home Health Care for their support.
