Lula Bunn “Lou” Flowers, 89, of Sims passed away Friday.  A funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Sunday at Marsh Swamp FWB Church, 6664 Rock Ridge School Road, Sims.  Interment will follow in Marsh Swamp Cemetery.  The Rev. Ray Wells will officiate. The family will receive friends 7 – 9 p.m. Saturday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. Lula graduated from Corinth in Johnston County and retired from Rock Ridge School Cafeteria.  Lula was a long time member of the Marsh Swamp FWB in Rock Ridge. Lula is survived by her daughter, Jeanette F. Cornett and husband, Roger of Zebulon; her grandchildren, Michael & wife, Shaunna Cornett of Wake Forest, Michele and husband, Joe Bellis of Autryville and Dale and wife, Jana Riley of Ola, AR; six great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren and her sister, Ruby B. Hall of Sims. She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer E. Flowers and her parents, Sam M. Bunn and Mary Hinton Bunn.
