Lula Gray Newcomb, 77, of Middlesex passed away Saturday.  Funeral services will be conducted 7 p.m. Monday at Joyner’s Funeral Home.  A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday in Bailey Town Cemetery.  The Rev. Reuben Batchelor and Rev. Marie Batchelor will officiate. The family will receive friends Monday evening following the service at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and other times at the home of Connie Lamm. Lula is survived by her daughters, Connie L. Lamm of Middlesex and Jeannie L. Brantley and husband, Danney of Middlesex; her granddaughters, Amanda Joyner of Middlesex, Lisa Brantley Emory and husband Jesse of Wilson, and Delphia Newcomb of Battleboro; her grandson, Danney Brantley, Jr. and wife, Dawn of Wilson; her great-grandchildren, Danney III, Anya and Kaylyn all of Wilson; her sisters, Peggy Medlin and husband, Jerry of Rocky Mount, Mary Belle Phillips and husband, Herman of Zebulon, Linda Blackley and husband, Eugene of Clayton and Margie Flowers of Middlesex; her brothers, Jack Flowers and wife, Sylvia of Bunn and Bruce Flowers and wife, Caffie of Zebulon and her sisters-in-law, Annie Mae Flowers and Cossette Flowers. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Archie Lamm, Jr. and Joe Newcomb; parents, Robert Wiley Flowers and Myrtie Bryant Flowers and her brothers, Cameron Flowers and Clarice Flowers.
