Luther Grifton Daniel May 19, 1929 – July 10, 2018 Luther Grifton Daniel, 89, passed away on Tuesday, July 10, 2018. He was born on May 19, 1929, in Black Creek to Luther and Bessie (Lucas) Daniel. He graduated from Lee Woodard High School and Atlantic Christian College. He married Elizabeth Daugherty on July 7, 1957. He worked as a tobacconist with Liggett and Myers and Alliance One tobacco companies. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth “Betty Jay” Daniel; their children, Diana Page (Barry), James Daniel (Susan), and Joseph Daniel (Lorie); grandchildren Zach, Lauren, Leah, and Jacob Daniel, and sister, Jean Collier (Earnest). He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Archie Daniel, and nephew, David A. Daniel. Funeral services will be held at Joyner\'s Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 14, 2018. Interment will follow in Black Creek Town Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 – 8 p.m. and other times, the family will be at the home of Joseph and Lorie Daniel in Black Creek.
