Maggie Strickland Smith January 13, 1929 – January 2, 2019 Maggie Strickland Smith, 89, of Raleigh passed away Wednesday. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday in Maplewood Cemetery. The family will receive friends 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. prior to service at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. She was employed for over 30 years with Belk in Wilson and Greenville. Maggie is survived by her son, John C. Smith and wife, Margaret of Raleigh; daughter, Kathy Aldridge and husband, John of Wilson; granddaughter, Mary Kathryn Bradley and husband, David of Wilson; grandson, Matthew Clark of Greenville and great-granddaughter, Laura Bradley of Wilson. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Carter “Bill” Smith; parents, John and Estelle Strickland; and a sister Ramona Duke. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Maggie’s memory to Salvation Army, 316 Tarboro Street West, Wilson, North Carolina 27893.
