Margaret Ann Rose Boykin

Margaret Ann Rose Boykin, 75 of New Bern passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2024.   Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 15, 2024, at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.  Interment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery, Wilson with the family receiving friends following in the cemetery.  Rev. Charles Robl will officiate.

The family will receive friends Saturday morning prior to the service from 10 – 10:45 a.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson.

Margaret was born in Wilson and graduated from Fike High School in 1966 and in 1970 she graduated from East Carolina University with a degree in Social Work.  Margaret worked for the Department of Social Services for several years in New Bern and was a big supporter of the Arts.

Margaret is survived by her cousin, Leah Fulghum Martin and her husband, Robert “Bob” of High Point, and her sisters-in-law, Betsy Boykin Davis and Edna Thorne Evans both of Wilson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. “Bobby” Boykin, Jr., and her parents, Gilbert A. Rose and Hazel Whitehurst Rose.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to her caregivers at Westchester Manor, Atruim Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center and Hospice House of the Piedmont for their care, compassion and support given to Margaret.
