Margaret Driver Murray
February 23, 1946 – June 11, 2017
Margaret Driver Murray, age 71, passed away at her home in Middlesex on Sunday, June 11, 2017. She was born on February 23, 1946 in Nash County. She worked at Naomi Knitting in Zebulon until the plant closed in 1995. Margaret was caregiver for her mother Inza Mae Driver “Mue” until she passed in 2001 in addition to being a devoted caretaker, teacher and counselor to her grandchildren.
Her funeral will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. Interment will follow in Driver Cemetery, Massey Road, Middlesex. The Pastor Daniel Parker and Rev. Tim Hopkins will officiate.
The family will receive friends 1:30 p.m. – 3:15 p.m. Tuesday afternoon prior to the service at Joyner’s Funeral Home and other times at the home.
Margaret loved her family with all her heart and she has played so many roles in all of their lives. She is mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend.
Margaret was caretaker to many and never wanted anything in return. Her humble sweet and stubborn spirit lives on in all of us who knew her.
Survivors include her children, Dawn Barham (Anthony) of Rocky Mount, and Grant Murray (Heather) of Middlesex. Grandchildren are Ryan Barham (Savannah), Chris Barham, and Grayden and Harper Murray. Great-Grandchild is Reese Barham. Her niece and nephew is Denise Brantley (Phil) of Bailey, and Gordon Driver (Jo Ann) of Middlesex, and many very special cousins and friends.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents Proctor and Inza Driver, and three brothers.
