Margaret Lancaster Matthews

Margaret Lancaster Matthews September 18, 1929 – July 10, 2018 Margaret Lancaster Matthews, 88, of Goldsboro went home to the Lord Tuesday. A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday in Maplewood Cemetery, Wilson, with the family receiving friends immediately following the service. The Rev. Kelvin Gurley will officiate. Margaret was a member of Daniels Chapel F.W.B Church for over sixty-five years, and a member of The Order of Eastern Star. Margaret is survived by her sons, Kent Matthews of Goldsboro and Allan Matthews of Wilmington; granddaughter, Hannah M. Chitwood and husband, Ryan of Wilmington; great-grandchild, Lilly Chitwood of Wilmington; her brother, Michael Lancaster of Wilson; numerous nieces and nephews, and Connie Kirby Hare, her niece and caregiver of Goldsboro. She was preceded in death by her husband, James B. Matthews and parents, Reb and Lillie Lancaster.
