Marian Bryant Brantley
December 1, 1934 – June 19, 2019
Marian Bryant Brantley, 84, of Middlesex passed away Saturday, June 29, 2019, at Wilson Pines in Wilson. A daughter of the late Hubert Bryant and Annie Belle Morgan Bryant, she was born Dec. 1, 1934, in Nash County. Mrs. Brantley was employed in the food service industry for many years. She enjoyed gardening, flowers and cooking. She also loved to fish and enjoyed watching movies, especially John Wayne and Clint Eastwood Westerns.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Brantley was preceded in death by her husband, William Brantley; son, Ralph Eugene Boykin; and daughters, Joyce Ann Graham and Phyllis Baines. She was also predeceased by her brother, Lumes “Johnnie” Bryant.
Survivors include her daughters, Betty Poland of Nashville and Brenda Sue Bargar of Virginia; sons Jimmy S. Boykin and wife, Donna of Castalia and Donald Ray Boykin and wife, Ann of Nashville. Her brother, Sam L. Bryant of Bailey, also survives her. Other survivors include several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, July 4, in the chapel of Joyner’s Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
