Marie Winborne Bradshaw October 10, 1927 – June 2, 2021 Marie Winborne Bradshaw, 93 of Sims passed away Wednesday. Her funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. Interment will be private at Marsh Swamp FWB Church. The Rev. Ray Wells will officiate. The family will receive friends immediately following the service Tuesday at Joyner’s Funeral Home. Marie is survived by; her daughter, Kathy B. Batten and husband, Ernie of Sims, and grandson, Brad, and her son, William “Billy” Bradshaw, Jr. and wife, Debbie of Bailey and family, Wes Barnes, Johnathan Barnes and wife, Michelle, and Alexis and Leia. She was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Bradshaw. Marie was the youngest of eight children. She was preceded in death by her parents, Stephen “Pete” and Minnie Winborne; sisters, Creamer, Lona, Montie, and her brothers, Ed, Ernest, Romer, and Willard. Marie began her work career at First Union National Bank in the loan department and later as a teller. She also worked as a secretary for Wilson Soil and Water Conservation. Marie will probably be best remembered as the owner of a family business, “Bradshaw’s Grocery and Gas”, located in the Rock Ridge Community. Marie loved her family, watching baseball and basketball, and growing beautiful roses. In lieu of flowers and food, please consider memorials in Marie’s memory to Marsh Swamp FWB Church, 6504 Rock Ridge School Road, Wilson, North Carolina 27893 or to a charity of one’s choice.
