Marion Jones Holmes

Marion Jones Holmes December 25, 1939 – October 10, 2021 Marion Jones Holmes, a loving mother and wife left this earth on Sunday to be in the arms of God. A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, October 14, 2021 at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. The family will receive friends immediately following the service till 4 p.m. Marion was a retired cosmetologist. She was a lover of nature, birds, and gardening and nourishing her flowers. Marion had many hobbies, listening to music, dancing, and traveling to the mountains. She loved to cook and care for her family. Marion will be greatly missed and thought of often with warm memories. Marion is survived by her loving husband of sixty-five years, Philip Eugene Holmes of Apex; daughter, Connie Glover and husband, Brian of Sims; sons, Philip E. Holmes, Jr. of Catawba, Michael David Holmes and wife, Kelly of Durham, and William Douglas Holmes of Sanford; grandchildren, Andrew Glover, Jordan Holmes Evans and husband, Mike, Grant Holmes, Ashlyn Glover, Stephen Holmes, Brad Holmes, and Jace Holmes, and her brother, William F. Jones, Jr. and wife, Hilda of Apex. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Ruth Sears Jones.
