Marjorie Lynn Rutter
March 9, 1939 – January 9, 2021
Marjorie Lynn “Marge” Cramer Rutter, 81 of Wilson passed away Saturday. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Winstead United Methodist Church, Wilson. Inurnment will be at a later date. The Rev. George Loveland will officiate.
The family will receive friends Friday from 1 - 1:45 p.m. at Winstead United Methodist Church, Wilson.
Marge was a secretary for Volunteers in Connecticut for Ledyard Volunteer Emergency Squad and Groton Volunteer Ambulance Association for nineteen years. She was a member of Winstead UMC Church Women’s group. A dedicated servant of God visiting church members every Monday in their homes for twelve years, that were in the need of conversation.
Marge is survived by her loving husband of thirty-eight years, Dennis Ray Rutter of the home; daughter, Marjorie Lynn Harris and her husband, Butch of Butler, Alabama; sons, Timothy Wayne “Tim” Gemmill and wife, Kathy of Liverpool, Texas, Andrew Joseph “Andy” Gemmill of Hitchcock, Texas and Peter Thomas “Pete” Gemmill and wife, Dawn of Alvin, Texas; stepsons, Mark Dennis Rutter and wife, Brenda of Virginia, Scott Christopher Rutter of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and Todd Steven Rutter and wife, Kathy of Tucson, Arizona; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and her brother, James Scott Cramer and wife, Beverly of Nevada City, California.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Kyle V. Cramer and Bertha Wyman Cramer and her sister, Norma L. Cramer Darrow.
