Mark DeVan Watson
July 20, 1960 – September 16, 2021
Mark DeVan Watson, 61 of Lucama passed away peacefully with his family Thursday evening. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson. Rev. Randy Pittman and Bob Lowery will officiate.
The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 12 – 1:45 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and other times at the home.
Mark was a dedicated husband to his wife Janet of 25 years and a wonderful Papa to his grandchildren. He loved his family, friends and racing family. Anyone that knew him knew his love for racing. Mark\'s passion in life was go-karts, racing, and helping people at the track. Mark has taken the checkered flag on his final lap of life.
Mark is survived by his loving wife, Janet Jones Watson; daughter, Michelle Aycock and husband, Travis of Lucama; son, Richard Glover and wife, Mindy of Bailey; grandchildren, Tricia, Hailey, Lauren, and Lucas Glover, and Piper, Tucker, and J.T. Aycock; brother, Scott Watson of Lucama; mother-in-law, Barbara Parker of Nashville and his niece Meagan Watson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Van and Letha Jones Watson.
