Mary McSpirit Bonnabeaux
April 15, 1931 – November 8, 2019
Mary McSpirit Bonnabeaux, 88 of Wilson passed away Friday surrounded by her loving family. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at St. Therese Catholic Church, 700 Nash Street NE, Wilson. The family will receive friends following the service.
Mary was so very loved and selfless, always taking care of her close friends and her family. She loved her church and took great pride in being the President of the Altar Guild, a Sunday School Teacher and loved being a part of the choir for many years. Mary also volunteered at the hospital in Radford, Virginia. In her free time, she enjoyed her years boating on Kerr Lake and Lake Gaston where she held the position of Secretary for the Bali Hai Yacht Club. In her quiet time, she was an avid reader and spent hours creating her own greeting cards that she would send out to loved ones for special occasions.
Mary is survived by her loving husband of sixty-six years, Herbert Bonnabeaux of the home; son, Bert Bonnabeaux of Wilson; daughter, Peg Hemingway and husband, Ted of Wilson; granddaughters, Mary Taran Dunn and husband, Michael of Wilson and Madeline Alexandra Bonnabeaux of Wilson; great-grandson, James Wyatt Dunn; great-granddaughter, Mary Neal Dunn; several loving nieces and nephews and her beloved dog, Maggie.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Margaret Dickson McSpirit; brother, Clarence McSpirit and her sister, Kathleen Murphy.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Aces for Autism, 925 Conference Drive, Unit A, Greenville, North Carolina 27858 in honor of her great-grandson, James Wyatt Dunn.
