Mary Gray Carpenter Hobgood April 23, 1931 – January 27, 2015 Mary Gray Carpenter Hobgood, 83, of Wilson passed away Tuesday. Her graveside service will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday. The Rev. Wayne Whitey will officiate. The family will receive friends 6 – 8 Friday evening at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway West, Wilson. Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother that was loved and will be greatly missed. Mary is survived by her sons, Wade Hobgood and wife, Dianne of Charlotte and James Keith Hobgood of Lucama; her granddaughters, Brandy Lee and husband, Will, Courtney Willis and husband, Josh, Misty Bridgers and Heather Hobgood; her grandsons, Maxwell Hobgood and Thurman Hobgood; her great-daughter, Peyton Willis; her great-grandson, Chase Willis and her sister, Margaret Hare of Wilson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Max Earl Hobgood and her daughter, Donna Sawyer.
