Mary Price Mitchell

Mary Price Mitchell September 03, 1926 – May 3, 2016 Mary Price Mitchell, 89, of Middlesex passed away Tuesday. Her funeral service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday evening at Joyner’s Funeral Home, with Rev. Donnie Price officiating. A private Entombment will be held Thursday in Historic Oakwood Cemetery, 701 Oakwood Avenue, Raleigh. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening following the service at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. Mary is survived by her daughter, Brenda Mitchell Overton and husband, Wayne of Raleigh; her sons, Steve Mitchell and wife, Deborah of Elm City and Delma Gay of Smithfield; her grandsons, David Overton and wife, Brandie and Brian Overton and wife, Bonnie; great-granddaughters, Olivia Overton, Vivian Overton, and Gwyneth Overton, and her brothers, Robert Price and wife, Henrietta of Middlesex, Donnie Price and wife, Shirley of Middlesex, M.H. Price of South Carolina, and Earl Price of Middlesex. She loved her family and especially her extended family of the many special children she cared for in her forty years of service at the Free Will Baptist Children’s Home in Middlesex. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Lee Mitchell; her parents, Mallie Hinnant Price and Ella Maude Taylor Price; three sisters, and three brothers. In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorials in Mary’s honor to the Alumni Association, Free Will Baptist Children’s Home, PO Box 249, Middlesex, North Carolina 27557.
