Mathew Charles Peele
December 4, 1947 – September 8, 2017
Mathew Charles Peele, 69, of Wilson passed away Friday. His funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson. Interment will follow in Marsh Swamp OFWB Church Cemetery, Rock Ridge. The Rev. Steve Kirkland will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 – 2:45 p.m. Tuesday afternoon prior to the service at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.
Charles was a loving father, grandfather, brother and a friend to all that knew him. He was a Mason with the Lucama Lodge, and a Shriner with the Wilson Lodge. He served his country with honor and pride with the U.S. Air Force. Charles enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening. He was loved by his family and friends, and will be missed.
Charles is survived by his daughters, Cheryl P. Evans and husband, Brandon of Raleigh, and Amanda Perez and husband, Luis of Nashville; his granddaughters, Addison Evans of Raleigh, and Arielle Perez of Nashville; his grandson, Grant Evans of Raleigh, and his sister, Betsy Summerlin and husband, Richard of Pinetops.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mathew and Ethel Mae Peele.
