Matthew Scott Lamm
October 30, 1987 – September 15, 2017
Matthew Scott “Chew” Lamm, 29, of Wilson passed away Friday. His funeral will be conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson. Entombment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson. The Rev. Walt Tyndall and Rev. Greg Barnes will officiate.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 – 8:30 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and other times at the home of his parents, 5623 Claudie Road, Wilson.
Farming was Chew’s passion along with fishing. He possessed an infectious smile that uplifted others while in their presence and always left them with hugs to show his love. Chew was a volunteer with the Sims Fire Department; he also served twenty-one years with the Cragmont annual golf tournament, and was a coach with the Upward Basketball Program at Milbournie FWB Church. Chew was a loving son, brother, and friend to all that knew him. He will be dearly missed and thought of often with memories that will warm the heart.
Chew is survived by his parents; Bryan and Lynda Sue Lamm of Wilson; his brother, Jonathan Lamm of Wilson; his maternal grandfather, William K. “Papa” Cook of Suffolk, Virginia; Lainey Moore, his special little girlfriend, and his special aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous friends.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Bobby and Mittie Lamm, and his maternal grandmother, Linda Eubanks Williamson.
