Mavis Strickland Pipkin
June 5, 1944 – January 23, 2016
Mavis Strickland Pipkin, 71, of Wilson passed away Saturday. Her funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Joyner’s Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson. The Rev. Rusty Russell and the Rev. Gordon Sebastian will officiate.
The family will receive friends 6 – 8 p.m. Tuesday evening at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and other times at the home.
Mavis is survived by her loving husband of fifty-one years, Robert Kenneth Pipkin of the home; her daughters, Kimberly Carter of Wilson, and Crystal Whitley and husband, John of Wilson; her grandsons, Brandon Carter of Greenville, and Conner Whitley of Wilson; her sisters, Marie Peacock and husband, J.F. of Roanoke Rapids, Doris Walls and husband, Billy of Bailey, and Shirley West Brown of Bailey; her brother, Charles West and wife, Tammy of Wilson; her sister-in-law, Carroll Webb of Wilson; nieces and nephews, Shannon Denton, Ricky Brown, Robert Strickland, and Gary Strickland, and very special great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Lee Strickland and Ethel Lee Petway Strickland West; her step-father, Royal West; sister, Ann Carol Harris; brother, Luther Strickland and a niece, Wanda Jenkins.
