Melanie Horton June 16, 1964 – May 22, 2017 Melanie Horton, 52, of Wilson, passed away Monday. Her memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Black Creek United Methodist Church, 200 Church Street, Black Creek, North Carolina. Pastor Tuck Taylor will officiate. Melanie is survived by her sisters, Dianne Stewart of Goldsboro and Mardelle Lackey of McKinney, Texas; extended family, Crissy Ovavits of Kenly, Robin Davis of Wilson, her band, The Nutones, her canine companion, Gracie May; several nieces and nephews that she loved very much. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Janette Horton and a sister, Judy Shattuck.
