Melva Deans

Melva Deans, 90 of Sims passed away Friday.  Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. Monday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

 

Melva was an avid piano player, great cook and a member of Cedar Grove Missionary Baptist Church.  She was retired from Wilson Memorial Hospital.  Melva was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend to all who knew her, she was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

 

Melva is survived by her daughters, Cheryl P. Pittman and husband, Greg of Kenly, and Denise Paul of Missouri; son, John Paul and wife, Ann of Lucama; five grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren, and her sisters, Charlotte Winstead, and Brenda Woodard both of Virginia.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-five years, Bertis Joyner Deans; grandsons, Christopher Wilson, and Jason Worrell; parents, Melvery and Virginia Holton, and her brothers, William Clyde Holton, and Herbert D. Holton.
