Melvin Douglas Corbett January 7, 1944 – March 26, 2016 Melvin Douglas Corbett, 72, of Elm City passed away Saturday. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson. The Rev. Bobby White and Rev. Dwight Batts will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 – 8 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. Melvin is survived by his wife, Evonne Skinner Corbett of the home; his son, Bobby Jenkins of Wilson; his brothers, Johnny Dale Corbett and wife, Teresa of Wilson and Dwight Allen Corbett of Wilson, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Fannie Skinner Corbett, and his brothers, Ray Corbett and Mack Corbett.
