Michael Zane Riley, 56, passed away Thursday, July 12, 2023. Zane’s family will hold a celebration of life for family and friends in August at Atlantic Beach.
Zane Riley was born on March 20, 1967 in Greensboro, to Bobby and Ann Riley. He graduated from Havelock High school and went on to study at Atlantic Christian College. Zane is a Delta Sigma Phi brother. Throughout his career, he dedicated himself to sales and achieved remarkable success. Widely recognized as the top salesman in his field, Zane's talent was unparalleled.
He was not just a cherished father, but the pillar of strength and love for his two children, Phoenix and Skylor Riley. His loyalty extended beyond his family, as he was a steadfast and reliable friend to those fortunate enough to know him. In addition to his adventurous spirit, he possessed a calming presence that brought balance to his life. Whether it was the thrill of motorcross, the intensity of basketball, the serenity of yoga, the joy of walking his dogs, the warmth of grilling out with family, or the sheer bliss of dancing and singing to every song he knew, he embraced every moment with enthusiasm. Indeed, he was a man cherished beyond measure, and his absence will leave a void that cannot be filled.
Zane is survived by his loving children, Phoenix Riley; son, Skylor Riley; his person, Lisa Bowden Riley; sister, Lisa Baker and husband, George Baker; nieces, Gemma and Leila Baker; aunt, Rena Register; and cousins, Melissa Drasher and Jason Register, and his dogs, Josie, Timber, and Baloo.
Zane was preceded in death by his parents, Bobby and Ann Riley; grandparents, Mae and Harley Bland and Paul and Mary Riley, and uncle, Marvin “Bud” Bland.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Zane’s memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
